telephone survey
Definition:
The execution of a SURVEY using the telephone. Given the very high levels of telephone ownership in most advanced countries this is an acceptable way of conducting a representative survey and possesses particular advantages as data is inputted directly and questions can be dropped from the survey as soon as sufficient data has been collected on a specific point.
