salesforce compensation

Definition:
The paying of a salesforce. There has been much contention in marketing/selling circles as to the virtues of the payment-by-result (COMMISSION) system, and a straight-salary system which is not based on results. More progressive companies tend today to favour straight salary with the addition of bonuses as a reward for special effort.
