Definition:
Representative SAMPLE of sellers (retailers) or buyers who provide information on a regular basis. Thus RETAIL AUDITS are conducted by prior arrangement and over time by firms like Nielsen using a panel of outlets. Similarly, AUDIENCE RESEARCH is conducted with a panel whose TV or radio has been fitted with the appropriate meter for recording usage.
