One Minute Management

Definition:
A technique of management introduced by Kenneth Blanchard and Spencer Johnson in their book The One Minute Manager (London: Fontana, 1983). The technique is based on setting a goal on one sheet of paper, which can be read in one minute. If the team achieves the goal, they are given one minute's praise, and if not, they are given a one minute reprimand. Follow-on books include One Minute Selling and Putting the One Minute Manager to Work.
