A member of the worldwide Nielsen organization, the world's largest marketing research organization. Nielsen Index Services provide manufacturers with continuous measurements of sales and factors influencing sales in both retail and wholesale outlets. These services include the Food Index, the Drug Index, Confectionary Index, the Cash and Carry Index. Other Nielsen research services designed to meet the planning and decision-making needs of the marketer of both existing brands and new products include: TOPS, store observations, test marketing, management tables, back data, product quality control, product samples. Nielsen business services include compumark, clearing house, coordinated management information systems and consumer research giving general market studies, usage and attitude studies, advertising and video tests, trade attitude studies and product and package testing.
