Definition:
The standard way to describe CLASSIFIED ADVERTISING space in a newspaper or magazine: a count of the number of column-wide lines an advertisement occupies. DISPLAY ADVERTISING is sold by the COLUMN-CENTIMETRE or by fractions and multiples of a page.
