green movement

Definition:
A social movement akin to CONSUMERISM which is concerned about the impact of consumption on the natural environment and particularly the use or destruction of non-renewable resources. Pollution and waste disposal/recycling are high on the 'green' agenda. In some countries like Germany the green activists have formed a political party and have a significant impact on government policy.
