forced-choice scale
Definition:
A scale on which the RESPONDENT is required or 'forced' to express an order of preference for the activities or attributes listed, e.g. 'Please rank the following television programmes in your order of preference assigning the number 1 to your most preferred programme, 2 to the second and so on: Brookside, Coronation Street, EastEnders, Neighbours.' Such scales are ordinal.
