dependent variable
Definition:
(criterion variable). The dependent variable is the measure of the construct whose values we expect to be influenced by the predictor variables (also called the independent variables). The term is used in REGRESSION ANALYSIS, ANALYSIS OF VARIANCE and other techniques to describe the variable whose outcome we are attempting to attribute either to some experimental manipulation or to the values of some predictor variables.
