CAVIAR
Definition:
Acronym for CINEMA AND VIDEO INDUSTRY AUDIENCE RESEARCH, a continuous research programme to provide MEDIA PLANNERS with reliable audience profiles, commissioned by the CINEMA ADVERTISING ASSOCIATION and funded by a consortium of subscribers. For the 14th annual study, carried out in late 1996, one of Britain's best known market research companies conducted in-home face-to-face interviews with a UK-wide sample of 2,800 cinemagoers from the age of seven upwards.
