Having two distinct end points. Scales used in measuring attitudes and opinions offer the respondent a range of alternatives between but inclusive of the end points which may be defined in words: e.g. hard . . . easy; strongly agree..... strongly disagree; or in numbers: e. g. 1 ..... 10.
