administered channel system
Definition:
A set of relationships in ordering, supply and payment between a producer and his channel intermediaries which preserves the autonomy of each channel member while permitting informal and enduring organizational arrangements to improve efficiency and encourage loyalty. The organizational arrangement may be initiated by the retailer (e.g. Marks & Spencer plc) or the wholesaler (pharmaceutical trade ordering systems) or the manufacturer (brewing companies).
